Last weekend on February 10th, we had torrential rain that started to flood in our area. We got several inches of rain in a few hours so the water could not move fast enough once it got on the ground. I just heard that the reason the water did not soak into the ground like it normally does is the ground here is still saturated from the Harvey Flood.
Last evening I drove around our neighborhood and was saddened to see that every house still shows signs of flood damage. There are only a few families living in the neighborhood, mostly in FEMA trailers. Our family has really been blessed with the speed that we have been able to get our house back to living condition. We still have work to do but at least we are home. Continuing to pray for my neighbors.
